This 6-day CBBAG foundation course introduces the variety of tools, materials and techniques fundamental to hand-bookbinding. The course will start with the making of simple pamphlets and proceed to the case binding of two hard cover books. Sewing structures, paper and their reactions when wetted, making your own book cloth, tips and tricks will all be covered. This class prepares participants to explore bookbinding on their own with a very good foundation or to continue with more advanced studies. For those who have taken Bookbinding 101, this course will delve much deeper into the traditional craft of bookbinding. All tools and shop supplies will be available during class.

This course will run 2 consecutive weekends on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 17, 18, 19 and Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 24, 25, 26 from 9:30 to 4:30 each day.

Workshop Cost: $500.00 CBBAG members, $560 non-members ($60 towards CBBAG membership)
Material Fee: $40.00 (paid in cash to the instructor at the workshop)
