This version of the clamshell box is sturdy and durable, as well as classic in its elegance. The lip allows for easy opening, while the cloth covering affixes and supports the walls for strength. Participants will learn how to measure and assemble this cloth covered binder’s board box, while practicing a sophisticated corner covering technique.
Suitable for beginners and all experience levels.
All tools and materials will be provided; however, if you have a favourite bone/teflon folder, ruler, knife, or other tool, please feel free to bring it along.
Materials costs are $20 (payable to instructor).

Instructor
Ms. Ubbink operates a book and paper conservation practice, providing services to heritage institutions, collectors, auction houses and antiquarian merchants for over twenty years. From 2007 to 2019, she taught archival preservation for Algonquin College, and continues to contribute to the field through workshop instruction, speaking engagements, and publishing articles. Ms. Ubbink has provided workshops for the Canadian Museum of Science and Technology, the Canadian Museum of Nature, Canada Border Services, the City of Ottawa Archives, and many genealogical and municipal heritage organizations.

Participant-requested cancellations will be accepted up to 3 days prior to the published cut-off date for registration and will be subject to a 10% cancellation fee (a minimum of $5). After that, the full fee will be forfeited. In the event of the workshop being cancelled by CBBAG, the workshop fee will be fully refunded.
