Workshop

Saturday, May 10, 2025, 10:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Book Arts Lab, MacOdrum Library, Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive Ottawa, ON K1S 5B6.

If you ever wanted to make a pop-up book and didn’t know where to start, this workshop is for you! Pop-Up Fundamentals: The Building Blocks will give you the foundation to make pop-up books.

In this workshop, you will learn about the tools and materials, terminology, and how to make basic kinetic structures. Students will make a series of pop-up models, learn how these models can be embellished or combined to create new structures, and then learn how to assemble the models into a text block to serve as a reference for future creativity.

There will be a lunch break, the coffee shop is open and many places to sit otherwise. Materials and toolkits will be supplied with a material fee of 10 dollars (paid to instructor at workshop).
