On September 30 on Zoom, the sixth lecture in the Alcuin Society Virtual Lecture Series 2021, Mr. Chaves talked about the history and definition of what they are all about, includes a virtual visit of the Clinker Press in Andre Chaves and The Clinker Press.

The presentation touches “extensively on what became known in the 20th century as Typography, addressing the meaning and limitations of the word. It will mention some facts about the Arts and Crafts Movement as a parallel to the Private Press Movement both here and in England. Throughout, it will refer to the inevitable William Morris and his ideas about printing. It is hoped it will be provocative but enjoyable.” View this video on the subject, prepared by Mr. Chaves.
