The Grimsby Public Art Gallery has been celebrating the art of hand-made books since 1979, when a small group of practitioners gathered in the gallery to share their love of letterpress printing, wood-engraving, hand book binding and related arts. They were joined by a couple hundred fascinated visitors, eager to learn about the creation of limited edition hand-made books. The success of this gathering was the beginning of a Grimsby annual cultural event that has become internationally recognized.
