Learn how to make monoprints using a gelatin plate. No printing press required! Surface designs will be created on paper and fabric using acrylic paints, stencils, and commonly found objects. Let your imagination go wild or create controlled old world antique looking patterns, your choice!
Participants need to bring their own gelatin plate* (any size) and a soft rubber brayer (don’t forget an apron if you are messy!!). Some Gelli Plates will be available to use at the workshop. Paint and paper/fabric will be supplied but please bring your own to add to the fun. Several tools for making designs and patterns will be available for use. Bring all the stencils, stamps and pattern making objects you can find!
*Gelli and Gel Press plates (brand names) and brayers are available through DeSerres, Wallacks, Michael’s and Curry’s Artist Materials.
