Learn to carve relief blocks (or “drawing with light”) and print them by hand and with a press.
Saturday and Sunday, September 23-24, 2023, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Students will explore the graphic possibilities of relief printmaking on linoleum, as well as develop skills in hand printing and printing on the proofing press. Suitable for beginners and all experience levels.
A minimum of 5 participants are required for this workshop to run.
Instructor: Larry Thompson has carved linocuts and wood engravings since the early Noughts. He used them in limited edition books that he printed by hand. After a brief absence of 30 years, he has returned to his alma mater Carleton University to work full time in the Book Arts Lab in MacOdrum Library.
