On November 25 on Zoom, the nineth lecture in the Alcuin Society Virtual Lecture Series 2021, Vancouver-based graphic designer and book artist Markus Fahrner talks about his creativity and work in his presentation on Books, Design & More.
Markus talks about the creation process for ”The Second Encyclopedia from Tlön”, the brainchild of his mother, Barbara Fahrner, an internationally renowned book artist: a project that stretched for over ten years and became a family project. He gives an overview of Fahrner & Fahrner books and art works, and discusses how his exposure to the book arts, letterpress printing, and lithography has morphed into a lifelong career as a graphic designer. He will touch upon his design work in a local museum, featuring educational and promotional material as well as the exhibition material which populates the museum displays.
