On Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. at the National Gallery of Canada, join Ottawa artist Kathryn Finter for a workshop inspired by Henry van de Velde’s beautifully designed editions of Nietzsche’s books, as featured in the exhibition Masterpiece in Focus: Friedrich Nietzsche and the Artists of the New Weimar.
Participants will learn about the materials and techniques involved in the art of manuscript illumination, followed by an opportunity to create their own original designs.
